Tuesday, March 5 – Registration is Now Open!
On Tuesday, March 5, architects from across the state will meet with their legislators and key officials in Nashville to advocate for the profession and the built environment! Save the date and join us on Tennessee’s Capitol Hill. This is a day that you won’t want to miss!
Mentoring the next generation of architects as advocates…please identify at least one Emerging Professional from your office and invite them to join you, so they can learn about the legislative process from you! We have a special rate just for Associates and EPs licensed less than two years.
Tentative Schedule of Events – March 5, 2019
Overnight accommodations: Fairlane Hotel located in Nashville Business District and near the Cordell Hull Building.
Discounted Group Rate of $239 per night (plus tax). Hurry and make your reservation, rooms will go fast! The discounted rates ends on February 9 (or when block fills up).
You must call 615-988-8511 and make your reservation with the front desk. Mention “AIA March 2019 Group Block” (also group ID is AIA030519. (Please contact the AIA TN office if you run into any issues.)

Please allow time to park, walk over to the Tennessee State Capitol. There are two ways to enter: 1. Through the Motlow Tunnel at the entrance on at 600 Charlotte Ave, or 2. Through the tunnel in the Cordell Hull Building (where the legislative offices are located).
The Cordell Hull Building located at 425 5th Ave. North, Nashville, TN (see map below). Be sure to bring a government-issued I.D. and be prepared to go through security as you would at the airport.

5:30 – 7:30 pm – Architects + Engineers + Contractors Legislative Reception at the Musicians Hall of Fame (directly across the street from Cordell Hull) located at 401 Gay St, Nashville, TN 37201.
It is important for the design & construction industry in our state to make certain our collective voice is heard. To facilitate that process, AIA Tennessee is holding a coordinated legislative reception with the engineers and contractors professional associations. The combined effort will present a unified front to legislators relative to the development of legislation important to the design & construction industry in Tennessee.
Online Legislative Briefing – Friday, March 1
AIA TN will hold an online legislative briefing to discuss any “Late Breaking” news, Day on the Hill Agenda and Legislative Issues on Friday, March 1 at 11 am/central (Noon/eastern). We will send out instructions to Day on the Hill attendees prior to the briefing.
Please be sure to ACT when you receive a Call to Action from us on legislation! It’s imperative that our legislators hear from their constituents on issues that are important to the Profession.
