2025 Legislative Session Convened on January 14, 2025

Nashville, TN – The 114th Tennessee General Assembly is now underway with lawmakers gaveling in at Noon on Tuesday, January 14, and newly elected state legislators took their oaths of office.

There are 12 new members of the 132 members of the TN General Assembly; three state senators and nine state representatives. State Representative Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville) was reelected House Speaker and State Senator Randy McNally (R-Oak Ridge) was reelected Lt. Governor.

Then, on Wednesday, January 15, Governor Bill Lee called a special session to begin on January 27 to address school vouchers, hurricane relief efforts and immigration.
