Legislative Update

Going into the third month of the 2024 legislative session, subcommittees are beginning to close and bills are moving fast through committees (or they are not moving at all). The AIA TN Government Relations Committee and lobbying team, Lindsay Spain and Bill Nolan, continue to meet on a weekly basis to review the legislation and strategize on bills. On March 26, AIA TN is hosting SpeakUP in Nashville with an afternoon of sessions focused on 2024 legislative matters, such as Third Party Review, Affordable Housing, Safe Schools and TN’s Built Environment. Space is limited! Register today.

Below are some of the bills (but not all) that the Committee has been monitoring/watching over the past several weeks:

Another arm of our government relations effort is the Tennessee Architects Political Action Committee (TAPAC). TAPAC serves as a single voice on architects’ positions for, the built environment, our profession, our communities and our practices. It is an integral part of AIA Tennessee’s advocacy efforts. A strong PAC ensures that when decisions are made, architects will be at the table and not on the menu!

Please support TAPAC (individual and firm contributions are allowed). A big THANK YOU to those that have already contributed to TAPAC.
