Gifts for newly registered architects from AIA Tennessee

AIA TN’s newly licensed awards are designed to be displayed on a desk or hung on a wall! The Tennessee River, as an entity of the significance to our state and region is straightened and scaled to the row of the awards. TVA dams are located along this line at their relative widths and elevations.

Designed in 2015 by member Matt Jordan (at the time an Associate AIA himself), the original awards were fabricated by UT’s Fab Lab using 1” think aluminum frame. This year, FormGrey Studio, took responsibility for fabrication and sourcing new material for the award. FormGrey used a mixture of hickory and white oak, both indigenous to TN species, for the awards this year. The concept of this final assembly plays on the past two years… everything’s been a little mixed up! In this way, each finished award has a unique and diverse form, but is part of a larger vibrant whole! We hope you will treasure this award.
