Fire Sprinkler Requirements (SB1749 / HB1649)

Synopsis: This bill would remove fire sprinkler requirements from churches with capacity of less than 400 and seating capacity for at least 250 with no water supply on the property.
AIA Position: Architects are obligated to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Building codes have successfully protected people and property. Any reduction in fire protection requirements may place some citizens of TN and property in greater risk. Regardless of the size of any gathering, our focus is on safety.
